悪運を吹き飛ばしラッキーを手に入れると言う神話は軍人が士気を高め、無事に帰還できる事を願った思いが込められていたようです。

当時、このテッドマンのキャラクターのルーツである悪魔小僧のTATTOOが、口から噴き出す炎により、邪鬼を吹き飛ばし身に付けている者にラッキーを招く！と云う噂が伝承され、このTATTOOをバイカーやロッカーなどアングラ系の若者達がこぞって腕や肩に刺しました。
